I’m pretty sure Gahanna’s game plan was to sit back and absorb pressure and look for counterattack opportunities. PN didn’t fall for the tactic by pushing defenders forward to allow something over the top with space to run. I don’t know if the tactic was to wear down. From my point of view, PN was doing most of the work in the 1st half.
I have a feeling Liberty has their backs against the wall right now. They could also be thinking the PN game means nothing and be one of those high teen seeds that no one wants to play come tournament time.
I’m shocked by the goals being conceded late in games that have cost themselves at least 3 wins since the Gahanna game. Last night, they gave up a goal with 6 seconds left. Centerville scores in the last minute and Orange scores twice in the last 5 or 6 minutes. If I remember, even Bradley scored late for the win.
I would like to see the game Thursday.

Liberty does have some very skilled senior defenders and forwards and the team overall should be doing better than they are. But those late game mistakes are costing them games. Way too many balls being lost in the middle of the field which is taking its toll on both the defensive and offensive lines. Liberty played very well against the very skilled teams of Jerome, Gahanna,Coffman and Centerville and have had a really tough schedule overall this year. But Liberty did not play so well against Westerville. Liberty's starting goalie and one of their senior defenders did not play last night and that hurt them. Last night's last second goal resulted in a penalty in the box and Westerville's forward took advantage of it. The Westerville forward and goal keeper really kept that game going for Westerville last night. Kudos to them. Liberty has no chance now of winning their conference with the loss last night so only time will tell what that will do to the spirit and fight of the Liberty players moving forward. Sounds like it was a great matchup between PN and GL. I haven't seen PN play yet but those GL players are in it to win it!
