I would like to hear from anyone who knows how the voting works, and when. Draw is Sunday at 3 pm. Does the voting take place this week? How long does the draw last?
How in-depth do the coaches who vote pay attention to the games? Do they use the coaches poll as a guide? Do they solely look at the win/loss/tie record?
I have heard that it is more the record - than the comparison of the wins and losses to the teams played.
Would love any insight.

Friday morning records are due and a blurb on the quality of wins/losses. Sunday afternoon is the draw meeting. D2 and D3 go really quick. Maybe 30 minutes or so because it's somewhat cut and dry as to who to play and stay away from. There are only 7-9 coaches in the district that pay attention to things outside of the records unfortunately. Proper evaluations of teams are not very accurate but things are quickly sorted out once games start.
D1 takes much longer because of the number of teams, the quality and again, who to play and steer clear of. Teams that play during the season often go after each other in the tourney because they know what to expect from the team. There is a much larger number of coaches that pay attention to the teams and give proper evaluations of seeds.
There are a lot of schools that have weaker programs that play each other and never play against the top teams. These coaches usually give each other really high seeds and vote for each others players high when the district player Voting occurs.
In all honesty they should really only allow the coaches that have really been following along and know the local and state landscape to be voting, but that is not the case and I don't see it changing.
Hope this helps some:)

Thanks, it helps a lot. Does every coach get a copy of every team's record/blurb that is due on Friday morning? Do you receive your seed number prior to Sunday or when you arrive on Sunday? I can understand your point on who should be voting but I do like the idea that everyone has an equal say. I can also see how people only vote for who they know/have played. Other than having the chance to read the blurb that the coach writes, I guess there aren't a lot of ways for people to make their case on why they should be ranked/seeded where. I really think this year is going to be a little harder than previous years for the top 4. There are 7 schools that I can make a top 4 argument for...but they all have their blemishes and issues. Well, ultimately, it will be an interesting event. Any chance it's broadcast online? Or maybe someone will live tweet it.

Coaches get the information about the other teams on Friday afternoon, and have until Saturday afternoon to vote. You can't vote for your own team.
Between OSSCA, the Dispatch, and other media sources, there's no reason a coach can't compare records and figure out who the better teams are. The summaries submitted by the coaches on Friday don't add anything if you've done your homework.
You get the seeding information at the meeting on Sunday.
