This could be a clean Cinci over CD sweep tonight. I think the only hope is if Liberty continues its run. They could be a team of density or is it destiny? 2-1 Liberty in PKs
3-0 Indian Hill. Beware all ye trash cans and water coolers. This game is sure to see one of you abused. Much more likely the water cooler should be on the look out. The only way this goes BWs way is if they are able to continue their kill the flow and make the game as ugly as possible and go 0-0 through to PKs where they apparently spend an hour every practice on them. Wonder what else is practiced? My guess is 50/50 balls, one touch whacks at the ball in all directions and fouling...a lot of fouling.
Summit 2-0 but it’s possibly not as close as the score indicates. Hoping for a different result as the GH coach has always done a great job and deserves this upset win.

2-0 IH first came 30 seconds in. Could have been 3 Goals in the first 2 minutes. Second came 6 minutes in. BW is in some serious trouble.

4-0 Indian Hill over Big Walnut. 3-0 at the half and could have been worse. IH left a few balls just wide of the goal. The 4th goal came with 2 minutes left just because they could:) The game was never in question. BW had one shot and it was from 25 out and was 5 yards wide. Other than that one look they never did a thing. IH will be the favorites in the final for sure. They are fun to watch. Their two forwards are both complete players and are easily the two best in the state regardless of division. The one is a national team girl and the other is Tom Jackson’s (ESPN)kid and she is a beast!!!

Liberty vs Loveland was a great game! Beautiful display of clean, fast, skilled soccer from both teams. Liberty scored first and held Loveland until 3 minutes left in second half when Loveland scored on a corner sending teams into OT where Loveland scored on a front of the net scramble last minute. Liberty played great and I really think took Loveland completely by surprise. Loveland had to fight every minute for that victory. Liberty showed that they deserved to be there. Great job Liberty girls!!!!!

So with Cinci teams sweeping Columbus teams last night, as well as Cinci FC beating the Crew earlier this season, what do Columbus teams need to do to get more competitive?

Not have Big Walnut represent Central District:) They didn’t belong in the field with IH. Their luck ran out. Sounds like Liberty was about to go through. Summit is a private school that is a juggernaut. Not all the best CD teams went through to represent. Pick North was the best D1 IMO. G Heights was the best D3.

Echoing a lot of what thrice said.
Liberty lost in OT and had the lead late. No shame in that. I'd think Pickerington North wins if they faced Loveland
Indian Hill is the best team in D2. Granville probably would have been a better game, but I think the outcome would have been the same.
Summit against just about any D3 isn't fair. They have only one loss, a one goal game against Indian Hill. Both Summit and Indian Hill would beat a lot of highly ranked D1 teams.

I think Central Ohio is producing some talented players. Liberty has 5 college committed seniors. Not too shabby. I don't think lack of talent or the ability to compete had anything to do with Liberty's loss last night. Don't take my word for it though. From a Loveland fan in the know:
"First, Olentangy Liberty was GOOD! After seeing that team play then looking at their schedule, I'm scratching my head at how they could have lost 5 games. Regardless, they were very technical, organized, and could counter-attack as effectively as I've seen from any team all season. #8 up top is maybe the best player Loveland has faced this year, and I was impressed with #20's speed and technical ability as well. They gave Loveland's back line fits all night."

Some talented players, ok, but hardly any State Championships.

DeSales boys will bring one back to Columbus but that is probably the only one I would think.
