So, the controversy is real over the PN/Jerome game. People are complaining.

Gotta think somebody was video taping the game? Maybe it will surface.....

I see some Twitter activity on the subject. If a video gets posted somewhere, hopefully someone will post a link.
Does the referee have the official time on his wrist or is it the scoreboard? I think the referee keeps the official time. It has to be heartbreaking for PN particularly with Walsh being eliminated.

Pretty sure when I looked back at the clock as the ball spashed there was still a second left. My thing is if it’s that close why not give the advantage to to attacking team. Both teams reacted as if one won and the other lost. It didn’t appear that anyone was going to question the goal. IMO they got hosed. It was pretty sad to see. Jerome was very opportunistic. All of their goals came off of mistouches in the back. Even the great header off the corner kick was created out of nothing dangerous. I would love to see a video too. Can someone really protest this and win though??

Does the referee have the official time on his wrist or is it the scoreboard? I think the referee keeps the official time. Thrice: The ref keeps the official time but it should be the exact same as the scoreboard. If it’s not the same the ref has to call up to adjust it. So in a sense the scoreboard is accurate or why have it in the first place...right???

I think this should work. Don’t know what it really tells. The announcer counting down the time? No whistle from the center.

Wow -- obviously we can't see the timer, but yeah. The announcer is at 1 when the ball crosses the line.
I guess ultimately we've all been there and had a goal taken back and maybe it was just PN's turn? It definitely stinks for the players, but plenty of life lessons to learn from it, I guess.
I would probably still be crying today if I was a PN parent, though.

It was a ruthless strike to say the least. From other comments, I assume the play was going away from the scoreboard and the ref couldn’t have seen the clock as the ball crossed the line. He would have had to go with his watch.
Besides the absolute rip of the ball, the referee was anything but unsure based on his body language. In other words, the ref looks confident waiving it off. He sure looked certain in the video.
Now the obvious question, why hold a regional semi final at site that doesn’t have a scoreboard horn? I kind of get not relying on an announcer’s countdown in that situation. It’s just just a nightmare scenario.

Hate the drama when my teams are involved - but love watching it from afar! I feel terrible for everyone involved in this.

Getting kicked for a victory is nothing. How do you think I feel right now?

I feel bad for you. But at least you have several stars on your lid. I'm just full of trash - well, I was until I got kicked.

I was confused until I saw that he literally kicked the trash can over, lol.
Edit: I'm slow.

That made me laugh. Plus, I had to watch it twice.
