Jerome at Pick North will be a great game. Might head over to watch it. I think Pick North looks for revenge and comes out on top this year.

I heard that the Jerome coach got a red card and is going to miss this one, is that true? I'm not sure if my source knew for sure or was also just passing along what she heard.

Unconfirmed, but I had heard there was an incident in the game against Granville that resulted in a red card.

It's true. I may have a way to link to the video. There were a lot of people there with camera phones. I think I have some of it.

Coach Brothers definitely missed Jerome's game last night vs. Scioto, but their 7-0 win was pretty convincing.
I don't have the video of the red card itself unfortunately, but the Jerome parents I know gave me this story:
Free kick by Jerome, ball played into the box. Granville keeper came out and missed ball (ball went into goal) but hit a Jerome player in the face. I don't know which player. She either had a cut lip/chipped tooth/or lost a tooth because I got 3 stories from 3 parents. The refs called an offside on the play and called back the goal and did not call a foul on the keeper.
This incident caused the red card in some way - I get the impression there was a lot of yelling. The fans got very loud and the student section was removed from the rest of the game. At some point, the refs packed up their bags and walked off the field but apparently made a phone call and came back (I saw that part on Twitter). They restarted the game after a 20+ minute break.
That's the information I received.

Was it something to do with the Jerome fans being too rowdy and the coach taking the red on their behalf?

Was it something to do with the Jerome fans being too rowdy and the coach taking the red on their behalf? See above -- I edited my response. I don't know if the red was due to the fans or due to her own actions.

As a neutral party it sounds like it would have been a very interesting game to see!

First off....Jerome is scary good!!! They would be the 1 team if we were D1 i would be avoiding in the tourney. We didn’t play well at all, but to their credit it was because they were so talented and took it to us. I Went back to watch the incident several times on video. Jerome Player was offside on the service, Granville keeper was a fraction second late on getting the ball. It was a soccer play and not malicious, but keeper should have gotten a yellow IMO and didn’t get anything. After the foul our camera person stopped filming. Wish they wouldn’t have. Their coach rushed out to the field to tend to her player who had blood on her face and emotions got very hot. She was asking the ref for protection of her player, but doing so in his face. I didn’t hear any foul language from her. The student section and parents were rowdy in the moment, but that is to be expected. I think they stirred the emotions of the ref as once the coach went back to her side line he spoke with her AR and then speed walked to her and red carded her. Parents and students are going crazy. He red carded the student section too I believe. He then proceeded to pack up his things with the other officials and started walking out of the stadium. My assistant and I ran after them to stop them so the game could continue and find out what the heck was going on. Student section was kicked out but instead came marching back over after 30 seconds. Ref deemed the environment hostile and wasn’t going to stay. He got on the phone with the head of officiating and talked through it. He requested to the AD that not only the students be removed, but ALL of the Jerome Parents/supporters (mind you this was their SENIOR NIGHT!!!). I told him we still wanted to play and they still wanted to play. it was an unfortunate incident, but that emotions seemed to have cooled down by this time (25 minutes after) and to just have their AD sit with their parents to make sure things were cool going forward. They agreed and we proceeded 15 minutes after that. I spoke with their players to let them know what all was going on and that we would be finishing the last 36 minutes of the game. They were relieved to know they would get to finish the game. Seemed like really nice girls. Our girls agreed that their players were very nice during the game as well.
To sum it all up...their coach I believe was given a Red for protecting her player and the effect of the students being teens (immature) and not controlled and the parents being concerned and yelling.
