Close games tomorrow: Coffman at Orange, UA at Liberty and Marysville at Jerome. Maybe Big Walnut at Kilbourne.
Can't decide if UA/Liberty or Coffman/Orange will be the better game. Thoughts?

A few thoughts...
Whats up with Jerome? Just lacking talent? They seem to be way down. That said, I'm sure they're still a solid team. Its hard to match the top-4 in the district quality they seem to put out every year.
I think NA has to be the best team around, right? Brooklyn Harris is the real deal and, without knowing anything about non central district players, has to be in the running for state player of the year. Although is the girl from Lakota West still there, or did she graduate? She probably wins if shes still playing HS ball. Too much name recognition. And she is a beast.
UA's first loss last night, to Liberty. After NA, you have a clump of teams. Right now I would say, Orange 2, Watterson 3, Liberty 4, Coffman 5, UA 6. But that is just a hunch and not backed up by very much research. I could be missing head-to-heads that could flip that order around.
On the doing less-than-expected scale, Big Walnut and Canal Winchester seem like they're underperforming pretty significantly from the past few seasons. Anyone know whats up there? Did they just graduate a lot of talent?
Is Kilbourne a real team? They have been in the doghouse the last few years, IIRC.
Just my two cents, not meaning to offend anyones team or give more/less credit than due.

I think Jerome is broken. Don’t know if they have much of an excuse from a talent standpoint. To be In the heart of Dublin And with all the ECNL players in their team, they should not struggle like this. I have heard their OSU commit is not playing this year. They gave up 7 goals to Granville and 6 to NA. Figured at the very least they would be in scoring battles with teams. Maybe they figure it out when it matters.
For my money I think Watterson is the best team in the area. They have Dempsey and will have played all of the other top CD teams. If they didn’t get a good result the first go round, he will make sure they do the second time. NA is a close second to them. I have heard BK does not have her explosiveness that she used to. NA is Very Very good though. Lost to Lakota West a couple weeks back 0-2. They have KD who is just a different kind of player. She will run away with POY again this year. That team has lost its last two games and she didn’t score in either. 0-1 and 0-5.
I think there are 5-6 teams that are all level with each other. PN, Olentangy, DC, OO, And OL. The depth of the top 10 in CD is absolutely crazy this year. I don’t think other regions know or give it much respect because Columbus has not won a girls state title in ages. I think the last one to do so was DeSales in D2 in 2011. I could be wrong, but I think that’s the last one in any division. That’s not a good reputation or representation from Columbus.
Stongsville out of the North and Mount ND our of the south have shown separation and are strong picks for other parts of the state.
Big Walnut does not have their top player, Senior CB Bodker who was their best player for years. She chose fall ball over HS. I would bet they would be wayyyyy better with her. Canal graduated their entire team last year, they are not the same and probably never will be like they were.
I wonder if this is the year for a Columbus team or two to catch fire and win a state title. A few in D1 could do it. Granville in D2 could do it. I don’t know if D3 has any chance at all. Southwest has teams that would compete in D2 for the region.
Fun to chat about and see how things turn out in the end.

Thats interesting. I wonder if the DJ girl and Bodker committed to fall ball while there was still uncertainty around the HS season. I completely forgot PN and Tangy. I think those two are a step below the others right now but they have the experience and coaching to get a district final and further. Speaking of coaching, some of the teams turnarounds could be tied to coaching. I know UA has a new coach, as does CW. HS soccer is definitely more about the players than the coaching though.
KD is the real deal, I saw her play in a club tournament once. She is a baller and does deserve POY. Who else other than NA's BK is in the running for CD POY? Who is Watterson's stud this year?
I would love to see a CD team go further than state semis. Granville has been close in years past, I think they can do it in D2. Should be fun to watch.

I'm torn on Watterson or New Albany, but inclined to lean Watterson. Brooklyn Harris is definitely good -- and the Lakota West player is a senior this year. She might be a lock for POY but Brooklyn may give her a run. Last I heard, Harris had double digit goals already. The Jerome and Canal players are both OP and they may have felt some pressure heading into D1 schools to be a bit more prepared than the HS season may have given them, given the clear down season both teams are having. It's definitely interesting how it is shaking out -

Also, Lakota West lost their 2 keepers to graduation and both are D1 commits. While KD can sure score at will, it seems, a tougher team could get some goals in if their GK is a weak spot this year.

Re: Central Ohio teams/ State Tourney
Grandview was ranked #3, but should drop due to recent results (injuries a factor) Keeping in mind that no public school has ever won a D3 girls State Championship, the Private School that comes out of SW (likely CCD) should be the favorite.

Central Ohio State Tourney outlook
D1: Watterson 1, NA 1A. (Not only does NA have BK, but they have a keeper who is a game changer)
D2: Granville should make deep run. There looks to be 2 D2 Central brackets this year instead of just 1, so most teams will avoid them.
D3: Wellington has a top scorer who’s scored in every game. Grandview could make a run if they get healthy. (Though either would need a big upset if they got to Regionals.
Covid is the Wild Card as a positive test and any team no matter how good is out.
