Feel free to discuss anything that happened in a game here. I read a thread about the Granville v. Gahanna officiating and several people agreed it was atrocious. That's great information!
Share what you saw and how it affected the outcome of the game here!

Some good matches on tap tonight.
Jerome at Watterson Granville at Davidson Darby at Westerville North
Not sure if all the schedules are loaded at ossca.org to catch all the central district games.

I think I'm going to go and watch the Jerome at Watterson game because I think it will be a good one. I debated between that game and Granville/Davidson. With Granville tying Gahanna and Davidson 0-2 -- I suspect a Granville win.

After a couple games, Bradley is the surprise team so far. Shutting out Liberty impressed me a lot. Davidson losing to Bradley and Pick North close might mean Granville will be visiting a hungry bunch.
Granville will dominate DII in the central district. I wouldn't be shocked if Davidson wins tonight on their new home turf.

Yes, Davidson's new turf looks great and that could be a bump in the Davidson play. Bradley has 2 pretty good goalkeepers and quite a few scorers this season. I think maybe I'm starting to be swayed to go to the Davidson game instead of Watterson...but I would like to get a look at Jerome. They have several pretty good, fast players that I've enjoyed watching during club seasons.

And, looking ahead, Bradley plays Beavercreek this Saturday. That will be a pretty big test for that team. Beavercreek has Marcella Cash, fast smart CUP player. Beavercreek beat Lebanon 2-1 last night and looks like all 3 goals were scored in the last 11 minutes of the first half. Must have been an exciting few minutes.

Well, Davidson 3, Granville 2. Birdofprey called it! I chose the Watterson/Jerome game. It was 2-1 Watterson at half. Jerome scored 4 unanswered in the second. Fast and physical team. The game was definitely closer than 5-2, but you could tell Jerome wasn't used to playing on the grass. It had an affect. Jerome has an outside midfielder who is lightning fast. Two pretty good backs, also. Watterson played pretty well as a team - always sending 5 or 6 up and bringing 5 or 6 back when needed. They controlled the middle. It was a good game.

Gahanna was sloppy at Kilbourne. The weather was the highlight of the night and Katie Stafford found the back of the net 4 times. The officiating was 100% better than Granville as the game was called much tighter. Kilbourne should have a better season that last year.

Gahanna might be a bit overrated right now. Certainly a good team but it's going to be hard to match the expectations after last season.

I watched Bradley v. Beavercreek.
Beavercreek is good, fast, strong. Marcella Cash is legit - 2 goals and an assist on the day. I felt like Bradley panicked and resorted to kick ball at times. They had good moments and some good players, but they lost nearly every 50/50 ball.

Anyone going to try to watch any games tonight? I might consider heading out to Olentangy for at least the 2nd half.

Central Ohio fun teams to watch:
D1: Pickerington North (solid squad) Gahanna (Will they be as good as last year?)
D2: Granville (likely to repeat as District champs) Jonathan Alder (great start although weak schedule)
D3: Worthington Christian (always a contender) Columbus Academy (playing regular season game at Mapfre Stadium on 10/7)

I heard from a friend there that when Gahanna scrimmaged Canal, Canal controlled the whole game and there were 2 breakaways from a good Gahanna forward. Canal has some decent players and a decent keeper but their 3-1 loss to UA has me scratching my head a bit. I thought it would be a closer game.

Gahanna's points leader from last season is limited by a rare lower-leg condition. She was a key player on both ends of the field the past 3 seasons. Gahanna is not the same team when she is not on the field. I've heard her playing time will be minimal and will vary game by game. Huge blow for the team but they have some young players that will get better as the season goes along.
