10/10 Game of the Day
I'm going with Olentangy at Liberty. Both teams lost to Orange, but still 2 good teams. I think they will both be out to win it.
Secondarily, Coffman at UA could be a much better game than most will consider. UA has a good team, they are struggling finding the net, though.
I do wonder what kind of game Grove City will give Pick North. I don't think it will be a 5-0 blowout like the Liberty game, but Grove City has played some good games this year.

I think Darby/Bradley will be interesting. I would give Darby the upper hand but who knows.
I have a feeling Pick North will lower the boom on Grove City. If I remember, GC had 1 attempt on goal in the 2nd half against Gahanna and it found the net. The short pitch at GC will make it more difficult for Pick North run in behind GC defenders. If I were GC, I would fertilize the grass today and water heavily between now and Tuesday night. GC needs a hay field to keep this one close. With that said, the GC coach should be a COY candidate win or lose.
Liberty has been off most of the season. A solid win against Olentangy will be important to the Pattys. I think Liberty will come to play 80 minutes and win this one.

thanks for the gahanna game perspective v Grove City. I was definitely using that in my analysis. And I would never have thought about the field - solid strategy. Grove City coach has been on my radar too, I should have given him some thoughts on that page. Pick North still has Jerome coming up, I think. Grove City could be a good practice game for them and going out hard and fast early might be a good strategy to employ v Jerome.
I forgot about Darby/Bradley. Darby is a far more physical team and that could give them the upper hand. I kind of don't care about that game for some reason. I would rather watch Coffman/UA.

I felt bad that I didn't look at Darby/Bradley. So, I did. I don't know - this could be a close match due to rivalry; it does make a difference for OCC Standings, but only for 2nd/3rd places.
Darby - 3 losses, 2 ties: Jerome/Olentangy/Liberty, Coffman/Watterson Bradley - 3 losses, 2 ties: Beavercreek/Anthony Wayne/Jerome, West. Central/Scioto
The quality of the losses goes to Bradley. They lost to better teams. The closeness of the losses goes to Darby - they were all 1 or 2 goal games, unlike Bradley who had two 1-4 losses. The quality of the ties clearly goes to Darby. I think the GK strength and Defense go to Bradley, but the midfield strength goes to Darby. Scorers: it comes down to this - can Bradley get some early goals and play defense? Darby has some fast forwards that are probably faster than some of Bradley's defenders. Bradley has some fast and good forwards and Darby has a weaker defense.
My analysis - Bradley is at home and if they score early, and if they can hold off Darby's OSU recruit (BC) and a few other forwards with good speed - this could go 1-0 or 2-1 to Bradley.
I would still rather watch Coffman/UA.

Darby/Bradley wouldn't be my pick for game of the day either and wouldn't watch even if they were playing in my backyard. The referee crew will earn the money for this game. I don't know the Hilliard dynamics but suspect the players and supporters don't like each other. Hopefully I'm way off on that assumption.
If the game is called tight, I imagine that will help Bradley. I have this odd feeling that there will be more yellow cards shown than goals scored.

I think I’ll wait to fill out my bracket until after tonight’s games. Heart picks for tonight are Liberty, Bradley and UA. Brain says Liberty, Darby and Coffman. A North v Grove City tie would be a dream come true since they both can’t lose. North should take it to GC but I’m happy that the field will be soft with all the recent rain. A tie creates a 3 way tie for OCC - Ohio. Go Greyhounds! A tie is a win so defend your butts off tonight.

Well...Bradley lost to Darby 0-1. I was getting texts from Darby parents. Goal in the last few minutes of the game...4 yellow cards (2 each team)...horrible refs.
Pick North beat GC 5-1.
Haven't heard about Liberty or Coffman.

Olentangy beat Liberty 3-0 per Twitter. W. North over Orange - wow!
Gahanna won 4-0

Olentangy over Liberty 3-0...wow...
I guess, these games mean nothing and maybe it's just better to not risk injury than worry about whether you get 3rd in the league or 2nd.??

And the USMNT misses out on Russia 2018. Is it still a full moon? I'm happy to learn my prediction on more yellow cards than goals in the Darby/Bradley game came true. That was low-hanging fruit.

That US result sure put a damper on all the buzz from crazy results from today!

10/12 Game of the Day:
Pick North v Jerome should be the best game of the night, but I would be interested in New Albany v. Gahanna as well.
Watterson and Liberty could be a good game.
But, if I'm spending money to see a game - it will be PN v DJ. Any other thoughts??
