I agree with the NA/Olentangy and DeSales/Watterson being big games, but Canal/Granville and Grove City/Davidson should also be good matches!
Also wouldn't be surprised to see Central Crossing beat Westerville South.

GOTD 9/9/17
I have to think the Game of the State is Pick North v. Beavercreek. Beavercreek tied Springboro ('16 State Runners Up) 0-0 this week. I am debating how much I want to see it versus whether or not I want to drive and pay. That said...Strongsville is playing at Jerome. Could be a great game also. I believe they scrimmaged this year and Jerome lost. Centerville is playing at Liberty - I think Liberty loses this game, but it could be a close one.
But, purely locally:
Coffman at Darby - this game will tell us a lot about Darby. They haven't played too many tough teams, absent Davidson (who lost last night 0-2 to Grove City).
Does anyone think the Gahanna at UA game will be close at all? Early in the season, UA seemed to be playing strong (good Canal win), but lately...the scores haven't looked as good. Not sure what to attribute to that.

Well, the local GOTD, Coffman at Darby, was a big fat 0-0. Both teams have some shooting power. Did anyone see this game? Any update?
Waiting to hear about Strongsville at Jerome.

Canal v. Big Walnut tonight: I'm going to give it to Canal, 2-1. I'd like to see Canal fight hard tonight for this win.

GOTD 9/14
I'm calling Coffman at Jerome as the GOTD. Jerome comes out on top of this one, but only by 1 goal is my prediction. 2-1? 1-0? 3-2?
Another good game on tap tonight is Hilliard Darby at Olentangy. Not sure which way this one will swing - I'm calling it a close one, but ultimately with Darby probably going ahead. Olentangy's keeper is young and with less experience than Darby's, so I think Darby takes it with pure physical ability to get by Olentangy's D. Look for Olentangy to put some good shots on goal, though.
If you're at one of these games, please post updates!

Game of the Day predictions of Saturday 9/16:
I'm giving the GOTD to New Albany v. Olentangy Orange. After Orange's win over Liberty, I'm interested in whether that is merely rivalry or if Orange is making a come back. I think Orange has a let down after the big win and New Albany makes a statement. NA with a 2 goal win over OO is my guess.

Game of the Day for 9/19:
Well it has to be Pick North v. Gahanna. But from a conference perspective, Jerome at Darby will be a big one, too. I think Pick North probably beats Gahanna. Jerome probably bests Darby, but both games could be close.
Let us know if you have a different thought - or how the game is going if you're there.

Well I just copied your post in the game scores subforum. I think PN takes it to Gahanna 2-0. PN limits Gahanna's set piece opportunities, and Gahanna can't stop PN's relentless attack. Jerome beats Darby 3-2 in an attacking minded game from both teams.
New Albany vs Orange ended 3-3. Is Orange good?
Canal beat BW 1-0 but followed with only a 3-1 win vs Buckeye Valley. What's going on over there?

Orange has some very good players with excellent speed and technical ability. They have a very crafty forward and a strong center mid who are difficult to stop at times. Interesting match ups between Pick North this week against Liberty and Gahanna. This week will make or break Liberty who have had some tough late game decisions making goals. I think Liberty is a better team than their record shows. Substitution patterns and constant changes in lineups/formations and positioning are making it difficult for Liberty to find a rhythm. Gahanna will finally be tested against a really difficult team this week and will see if Gahanna is deserving of its state rank. Good teams with good matchups this week! Good luck to all of the central Ohio teams!

I have a good feeling about Gahanna v PN. This game will decide the OCC-Ohio.
Gahanna has way more game than the score lines suggest. Both teams are strong defensively which makes me think a mistake here or there will decide the game. 1-0 either way or 0-0 wouldn't surprise me.
Hoping the referees bring their A game for this one.

If I didn't already have to be at a game...I would be at Gahanna v PN. I hope someone posts video, regardless of score. I would like to see the game out of pure interest in watching great soccer.

I added up the team wins, losses and draws for Gahanna and PN over the past season and a half and came up with 50-4-4. 2 of the 4 loses are to each other. Liberty and Springboro are the only other losses for PN.
I wish this came could be moved to Mapfre Stadium. Both teams deserve it. I would be happy to pay the price of a Crew ticket to see these 2 play on a perfect pitch. Sadly, Gahanna's turf isn't going to lend itself for a great skill game.
